The hand built Trillium Murrini is applied to the centre of the pattern, giving these pieces a clean, simple but elegant appearance.
They are encased within a layer of crystal. Colors vary as in all our work, each peice is signed and one of a kind.

Similar to our Damascus Series, these Orbs have colored glass rods woven within the mass of crystal not just on the surface.
With the addition of another glassmaking technique, Virginia and Tony get the appearance of a multi-colored fungus growing
within what appears to suggest brain matter, hence, the birth of the Mutant Brain. This design serves as a timely reminder that we,
the human race as a whole must change our ways of thinking and consider the planet and how we interact with every part of it.
To do nothing means certain disaster. We must mutate to survive.

These are a recent addition to our paperweight line-up. They are composed of hand built and mold made Murrinis. All of the hand
built Murrinis are painstakingly made by Virginia at her torch. They are then laid on a colored mixed stardust background and
encased with crystal. All of these paperweights are 'one-off' or 'prototypes' at this time. Some have one or more flat facets cut and
polished on their surface provideing different magnified views.

This detailed Murrini Stardust has a lovely hand built Butterfly Murrini in the centre encircled by stars and hearts,)note the detail in the butterfly) which in turn are encircled again around the outside of the paperweight. There is a window on the top of the weight with 3 more windows around the edge.

Ribbon and or Zanfirico glass canes are carefully formed into a crown alternating with our Stardust glass. The surface of the
finished paperweight can have one to four hand cut and polished windows. For a very special effect the windows are framed
using a stone engraving wheel to cut away the crystal. Another decorative pattern we use is called "battuto" and is a Venetian
technique of faceting some or all of the surface of the glass with the stone engraving wheel. Battuto means beaten or
hammered in Italian.

Lost in Spacesyde Orbs are an elaborate mix of murrini, complex cane, clusters of canes, dichroic glass, aventurine and all
types of colored glass related items These pieces are suspended within different layers of crystal, and will invite your eyes to
wander deep inside, viewing items actual size, magnified and distorted. These are a veritable feast for the eyes that will trigger
your imagination. Look for the signature murrini in more recent pieces. Earlier ones are signed by engraving , and again, these
are impossible to reproduce.

Black Latticino Nest
This delicate nest was created by Virginia using Latticino canes she made in her studio. Each cane is pointed at both ends, then they are fused and slumped in a kiln. It becomes a sculptural centre piece with a beautiful glass egg nestled inside.
